Getting Ready To Leave

I am very excited about this trip to India and the Philippines as well as a small trip into Nepal. Much has come against this trip but God has ordered it and the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. I believe this trip will be life changing for many including me. I believe in these conferences Pastors, Leaders and Intercessors will be restored and healed with a deep inner healing. I believe people will be saved, delivered and healed.

I know that ministry flows from all of us as we stand together in the unity of prayer. The great things that happen are not just because of me. So I ask you to stand with me in prayer for this 10-week trip. Many of you already are and with much emotion all I can say is thank you. I know the Lord has ordered this trip and you will be rewarded for your sacrifices of love and time in prayer.

There is still a great financial need – I leave on the 21st of this month, but because of debit cards and ATM’s money can still be given even after I leave. I don’t believe in asking for money. I let the need be known and the rest is between each of you and the Lord. I cannot look to people as my source but only to God and He is the best source, a great well of salvation.

Thank you for your prayers, love and encouragement. I do not have a computer this trip (mine died the death in Rome and I have not been able to get another) but I will still try to keep in touch and let you know what your prayers are accomplishing and what the prayer needs are moving forward.

I Thank You with all my heart.

This part of our teaching on the Soul is going to get into some practical application that I pray will help many. If there is someone you know with one of the problems we are addressing, I encourage you to get this information into their hands. Let me hear from you if it has helped you or ministered to you in any way or if you have questions or comments.

Soul Teachings- Practical Applications

Discovering the Team

Referring back to “Soul Part One” the story of the bunny, the bear and the wolf, each of them representing a part of us. Let’s look at the meaning behind their names again to gain insight.

Tom -      Bunny Rabbit    = Heart - Mind - Soul                = Divided or Connector
Wolf -     Wolf                       = Spirit                                   = Survival (Cravings, instincts & blessings & curses)
Simon -   Grizzly Bear        = Body                                   = Servant or Friend

Interesting enough the name Tom means twin, divided and doubting. Doubting is often portrayed as someone arguing with their self. We talked about this a little bit in Soul Part 2 but lets look at this in a different light.

Tom (the soul) was afraid of the wolf (the spirit). Tom’s spirit was set to survival mode. It was divided from the rest of Tom, so it became a ravaging wolf in him. The saying of the Lone Wolf, the lonely, selfish, independent, devouring spirit, rings true in this instance. But that is not who it was meant to be. It was meant to be a part of the team or the pack. The wolf (spirit) in us was never meant to be alone. They were made to run in packs (be part of a whole). Left to itself it will devour. It will by its nature draw in company of like nature like a magnet. So if Tom (the soul) in you has changed but the spirit still has cravings it will be like a magnet to draw in people who will match those cravings. So many times people wonder why this certain type of person keeps coming into their life but now they can know there is an internal magnet they need to deal with attracting that certain type of people.

Causes of Sexual Immorality and Steps to Healing

That is why all three parts of who we are, our personal team must be renewed and restored and even healed and delivered at all levels. The wolf (spirit) must be united with the body and soul of that person by the Holy Spirit. If it remains separated, alone, rejected, tainted it will draw in other wrong companionship. That is often how “nice” people are drawn into sexual immorality and bad or abusive situations. There is a craving in the spirit that they do not deal with and replace or perhaps a deep wound in the spirit they have never allowed to be healed, it has the same affect. For example a predator person can spot a victim person from afar. They are drawn to them. That craving that draws in a sexual predator is not always sex itself but a need to be appreciated, loved or feel special; a spirit of perversion at some level that remains or a person that has already been a victim. Perhaps it was removed at one level but often there are layers to deal with. It often starts with someone that flatters or makes you feel good about yourself. Often the predator has a spirit of perversion and is drawn to the victim because of that person’s spirit cravings for acceptance and their need for love; they are drawn in like a moth to a flame or like a wolf to a wounded lamb separated from the herd.

The answer is not a one time fix or to hide in the closet. The answer is a real process of discovering the roots of the problem and dealing with them one at a time by the Holy Spirit of God. Roots of perversion are often inherited and have to be dealt with at several different levels but that is not usually the only source. Perhaps sin that has been repented of and is gone but still has roots left from the initial problem of lust, porn or victimization. Some times it stems from a fear of being alone or unloved and sex is seen as the only way to achieve the needed love and attention. That is perversion (which means twisted truth or reality – it is not always just about sex.)  You must feed your weakened spirit well during this healing process, lots of Word and Worship and good Christians you can feel safe about being accountable to and turning to for prayer if you are tempted. Another type of person that is vulnerable is the person born to be a protector. Often the unintended predator has a spirit of perversion and has been a victim and it stirs the protector’s need to protect, which draws them in to a trap. Recognize those symptoms as warning signs. Know your weaknesses and strengths. What do you need to stay away from and what are the warning signs for you? Then make that a habit in your life. When you see certain stimuli avoid it, no exceptions.

Stay away from things that feed your cravings – certain movies (romance or explicit intimacy), videos, and games. Stay away from certain people that stir feelings in you at any level or exhibit symptoms of being drawn to you. Never be alone with the opposite sex. This chaperon system has worked for thousands of years, it is only in the last hundred years that we have changed those rules that said men and women could not be alone together. That is just asking for an attack. Don’t let pride tell you that you are above that – everyone has weak moments, usually when they least expect it. Be wise use the buddy system for your own good. It is also good not to put yourself in a position for your good to be evil spoken of.

Fantasy – The Silent Destroyer

Run from fantasy, it feeds perversion. Run from things that feed fantasy. God has given us a Holy Spirit of Truth not fantasy. He gives a good and creative imagination but not for fantasy. If fantasy begins and you can’t stop it, go find something to do that requires your mind or someone to talk to. The more you allow it, the more you feed it, the stronger it grows. Some years ago there was a couple that was very prominent in my church. She was a very aggressive, sometimes intimidating person but perceived as a good Christian, a leader. One morning the Lord gave me a word for her. “Go to her and tell her that if she doesn’t stop fantasizing she will lose her marriage, her children and her home. She will lose everything, even her walk with Me.” That was a hard word to give a hard person but I knew it was the Lord. I called her hoping she really wasn’t going to be home but she was, so I went. I half expected her to hit me or kick me out of her house when I gave her the word but much to my surprise she simply said, “I can’t stop.” I told her I would stand with her and that she must stop, it was urgent or she was going to lose everything. But then the truth came out; she didn’t “want” to stop. [We have to be honest when we don’t want to stop sinning but at least be willing to be willing and the Lord will help us from there.] She didn’t want to be free of it. So she continued. Within a couple of months she ran off with another man, divorced her husband, her 3 children went to her parents and she stopped going to church. Fantasy is a silent killer that we need to be aware of and begin to let God root it out of our life. No spouse can compare to the fantasy. Fantasy is addictive and requires a deep process of deliverance and careful watching and praying. The main root of fantasy is perversion. One of the main triggers of fantasy are “What if thoughts” – they seem so innocent and simply but they are the first steps on a dangerous path.

Begin to learn the triggers in your life and guard your gates (anything that gives entry into you) from those triggers. Notice the difference – gate is the entry port and trigger is something that gives access. Just like in our example the entry port is the thoughts and the trigger is the ‘what if thoughts’ that lead to fantasy. Notice the trigger is not the bigger problem of fantasy but something simple that leads to fantasy. A trigger is often not something bad in and of itself but a trigger leads to something bad for you. Like an alcoholic going to a bar – his cravings might be “triggered” but for me it would not be a temptation. That alcoholic should “avoid” bars. These gates that we must guard include thoughts, which is Satan’s number one way of entry. Begin a system to replace bad thoughts and memories by proclaiming scriptures that have to do with the mind or your particular problem. Don’t proclaim the problem, proclaim who you are in Christ. Learn what your triggers are and avoid them. Let me give you some scriptures that are aimed at thoughts and the mind that will help you get started. Let’s know our weapons and use them.

Scriptures For Problems With The Mind/Thoughts

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
1 Corinthians 2:16 …But we have the mind of Christ.
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
2 Thessalonians 2:2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word
1 Peter 1:13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down imaginations (fantasy) and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
Hebrews 9:14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 10:22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
1 Peter 2:9 …proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Philippians 4:7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 4:23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.
Proverbs 16:3 Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.
Hebrews 8:10 "For this is the covenant that I will make… says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
Philippians 3:15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.

It may seem strange to you to list scriptures to proclaim in the middle of a teaching but I am putting weapons in your hand that work. Now it’s your job to use them and proclaim them daily.

The Path of Change

Tom’s nature - the nature of the soul – was full of fears, doubt, division, being like twins, two people at once, arguing with himself and constantly harassed with mental gymnastics, which caused division in himself. James 1:8 a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. He could not change that nature but as He listened to the Lord in his heart and walked on the Lord’s trail in truth and the Word (Thy Word is a Lamp unto my feet and Light unto my path), his nature began to change.

To stop being so double minded that he was constantly fighting himself with his feelings and thoughts he had to take some steps. He stopped the division by walking in the Word of the Lord, repenting, forgiving, and remaining correctable and teachable. Then he could begin to learn to walk in unity with himself. In Acts 1:14 “walking in one accord” means literally one mind or one soul. We must be in one accord (one soul) with our self before we can be in one accord with others. This unity brings a strength the Lord can join to. That is why the enemy tries to stop this unity at the individual level first. Then it never reaches the family, church or corporate level.

Notice unity came with the body (the bear) first in the story. He was big and scary. Sometimes physical problems, sickness, or needs can terrify Christians. Their body’s desires and cravings frighten them and their sickness is overwhelming. But when by the Lord we conquer those fears (that are in the soul nature) faith is free to flow to bring unity allowing the Lord to heal the body and bring it under submission and control. It was only as the body, soul and spirit walked in unity, led by the soul’s inner communication with the Lord through the Holy Spirit, that the body’s anger and carnal nature were changed.

So there are 3 carnal natures to change but most only try to change one if any at all. The carnal nature of the Soul (Tom) comes from a different aspect than the carnal nature of Simon (the body) or wolf (the spirit). The spirit had to be dealt with last. Notice he had to be separated from his old pack – his old spirit ties and bonds. Even if the person is gone the tie may not be, as we saw when wolf insisted on returning to the pack and darkness engulfed him because the pack was still in him, in his nature. This caused him to look back, remember, feel obligated, lose his forward vision and focus on the Lord. That had to be dealt with before the “team” (that complete person) could go to the next level of unity and usefulness in the Lord. If we do not achieve unity with our self and inner healing at all levels we will not be able to go to the higher levels in the Lord.

It was in wolf’s blood to crave and his cravings were destructive to himself and to others. Notice wolf walked in the back and often the bear carried Tom. That is a true representation. The spirit follows the lead of the Soul and sometimes we must be forceful with ourselves and restrict ourselves (like the bear did holding the wolf all night when his cravings were overwhelming). When you restrict your body and soul, you restrict your spirit and denounce its desires. They still have to be dealt with but sometimes that physical restriction is part of the process. (Per our previous example – If you are an alcoholic don’t let yourself go into a bar. Restrict yourself from it.)

Why did those intense, wrong desires come on wolf, because he was allowed to get hungry. There is never going to be a time that we can stop feeding ourselves by the Spirit, the Word of God and be okay, just like there is never going to be a time that we can stop feeding ourselves in the natural and be okay. Intense cravings resurrect and resurface when we don’t feed ourselves. All 3 of us must be fed or there will be problems and weaknesses at every level. One part of us that is not fed and becomes weak will weaken the other parts of us as well. We feed our body natural food, fruits, vegetables, grains, etc. We feed our soul learning, fun, talent and relationships. But the only “good” thing you can feed the spirit is the Word of God. We will be too weak to walk in unity with our self if any part of us is not fed.

The spirit is the most neglected when it comes to being fed daily but sometimes it is the most needy. It cannot go hungry long without beginning to devour and wander. Do you ever feel restless, dissatisfied, bored, how much have you been eating of the Word of God daily? Notice that wolf (who represents the spirit), his true job was to watch and protect. A fed spirit that is brought into unity with the soul and body by the Holy Spirit and in unity with the Lord will be alert and sensitive to attack. It can be a very fierce warrior when it submits to God’s order and authority. But when it is not fed it will try to lead the pack, not as a protector but as predator survivor, a wolf. How many have wondered why they are in survival mode and how to get out? Here is a key.

An unfed spirit or a spirit that has not been healed in nature, is still tied to the old pack (old spirits and habits) maybe they wear a new, even a religious face but they have the same old spirits behind them. They bring division, they devour the body and soul and can cause sickness both mentally and physically. Many sicknesses are linked to curses. Curses are in the spirit carried in areas that have not been renewed in nature. Be renewed daily in the Word and in Worship beholding the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

We are changed into the image or nature of the Lord as we behold Him. We behold Him in His Word, Worship, true prayer, tongues and relationship with Him. It sounds too easy but the hard part is that it is not instant but a process of change that we must continue in forever. It is the continuing part people usually have trouble with but we must not get off the path, for this is the path to true unity and completeness. This is our true goal - completeness. Then things work, as they should. Let’s look at this completeness. Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

This word for peace is shalom Strong’s #7965. It means peace and well being Spirit, Soul and Body but it also means completeness. I think this completeness, that brings peace, is a wholeness that only comes when we are 7 as we were meant to be. When we are in unity with our personal self, that is 3 = Spirit, Soul and Body, add unity with God, which is 3 more, Father, Son & Holy Spirit and in unity with Others in the Body of Christ makes a total of 7 in order to achieve completeness. According to the Word Jesus paid the price for us to have this completeness and walk in unity. John 14:20 "At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. That is completeness – wholeness that brings peace and well being to every part of who we are. We CAN achieve that because of the Lord Jesus Christ and the price He paid but we have to be diligent to walk in it.

Divorce and A Torn Spirit

Malachi 2:14-16…the LORD has been witness Between you and the wife of your youth, With whom you have dealt treacherously; Yet she is your companion And your wife by covenant. But did He not make them one, Having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth. For the LORD God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one's garment with violence," Says the LORD of hosts. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously."

Interesting that the Lord says divorce covers one’s garment with violence. The King James says, “For one covers violence with his garment”. Let’s look at some other translations to get a better word picture.

The New Jerusalem Bible Malachi 2:16 For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, God of Israel, and people concealing their cruelty under a cloak, says Yahweh Sabaoth. Have respect for your own life then, and do not break faith.

The Tanakh Malachi 2:16 For I detest divorce -- said the LORD, the God of Israel -- and covering oneself with lawlessness as with a garment -- said the LORD of Hosts. So be careful of your life-breath and do not act treacherously.

Young’s Literal Translations  Malachi 2:16 For I hate sending away, said Jehovah, God of Israel, And He who hath covered violence with his clothing, said Jehovah of Hosts, And ye have been watchful over your spirit, And ye do not deal treacherously.

Violence – Strong’s 2555 châmâc = violence ; cruelty; injustice; violence against someone. [It is from 2554 – make bear or naked; violate; imagine wrongfully (fantasy – which can lead to divorce)]

The word Covers Strong’s 3680 Kâcâh – to cover like clothing or secrecy; conceal; cover over; hide;

With their Garment strong’s 3830 Lebűsh = a garment or symbolic or a wife (Boaz covered Ruth with his skirt as a symbol of accepting her as a wife.  So covering your lawlessness by mistreating your wife. ]

Treacherously Strong’s 898 Bâgad = to act secretly, deal deceitfully; to be very unfaithful

Let’s look at one more word Remnant in Verse 15 Having a remnant of the spirit. (How do you have a remnant of a spirit?) Strong’s 7604 Shâ,ar = redundant; (redundant means to duplicate – so two spirits – duplicated - made into one and after the tearing of divorce only a remnant of that spirit is left. That is a deep gapping wound.)

Two times in these verses it says TAKE HEED – pay attention – to your spirit that you do not deal treacherously. The Tanakh says So be careful of your life-breath God means for us to get this point. He wants us to know this is eternally dangerous and leads us to harm our self.

The result of a redundant spirit (or the spirit of husband and wife united) is godly offspring, so what is the result of a torn spirit that only has a remnant of a spirit on the children. Children that are illegitimate or from a divorced home would be put into jeopardy because of the “spirit” of “Covenant breaking” [breaking covenant in and of itself brings a curse and that curse can be passed on]; “spirit of Rebellion” against God’s covenant and laws (that is why the Tanakh calls it lawlessness); and “Spirit of Violence/Victim” which would show in anger, fear, shyness, or ADHD. [Remember Christ has redeemed us from the curse. But we need to use the Blood of Jesus and not be passive. We also need to get to the root of these curses and root them out as the Lord shows us. The Lord paid the price for this on the Cross but we must apply it.] It is literally a torn spirit that causes the inner being to be sick and unstable. Remember these spirits and inner problems can be inherited. The main source to form the baby’s inner being in the womb (the baby’s soul bucket) is the mother. If she has a torn spirit she will pass that on in some measure to the child.

So also the mother suffers violence at the spirit level – torn asunder. These are vessels that are torn and broken. If they are filled with love they can only hold it for the moment and soon they are again starving for love and acceptance. Because their soul container has been affected by the torn spirit (what does the spirit become when it is torn – a devouring wolf) so the soul cannot hold the love to keep it. That is why many children from a broken home do not do well and many people who divorce never find a happy relationship. Because their spirit is wounded and torn so it turns to survival mode and devours. They need so desperately to be loved and they hurt so deeply (whether noticed on the surface or not) they end up devouring all relationships. They try too hard or demand too much and no person can fill that great need but Jesus.

No one asks to be a victim of divorce or for the spiritual baggage that goes with it. Most people had no choice. That is the enemy’s way, to prey on the innocent and helpless but God has a better plan for us a plan of restoration. We must stop this vicious cycle from being handed down by stopping the spirit like a wolf from leading the pack in forced survival mode, cravings for love and acceptance and violence/victim mode, especially on the internal level of self, because the greatest destruction is to self as the wolf devours.  We must stop the homing device to predators and allow the Lord access in a process of inner healing.

Our instinct is to run away – hide and never let the pain be touched but Isaiah 53:4-5 says (I am adding a few definitions to the scripture), Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows (pains);… He was wounded for our transgressions (rebellions), He was bruised for our iniquities (sin in a pattern – in iniquitous patterns inherited in our soul – repetitive mistakes of missing the mark of what is right and truth) ; The chastisement for our peace (shalom – total well being spirit, soul & body – completeness) was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed (spirit, soul & body).

Isaiah 61:1 & 3-4 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me (Jesus), Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me (Jesus) to heal the brokenhearted, (heal our spirit & soul) To proclaim liberty to the captives, (even internal captives to pain and sin) And the opening of the prison to those who are boundTo console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness… And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.

We must let Jesus take us through a process of healing. It will affect “Many Generations” our generations. I know it’s hard to let Him do that. We want to run away. Watch TV or do something that will cause us not to feel. But if we don’t hurt how can He fix it. We have to stop numbing it so much that we don’t even know it’s there ourselves and let it come to the surface where the savior of our soul can then fix it and will fix it. Because He is not only the God who is able to do the impossible, He is also the Lord who was willing. He was willing to touch a leper and He is willing to touch you too. But you must position yourself for that. He will help you do even this.

Some years ago the Lord dealt with me about the Storm Cellar in my foundation. I knew there wasn’t supposed to be a storm cellar in my foundation so I asked what it was. It was the place I run to instead of Him, the place I hide when things shake me but it is not in Him. The Lord began a PROCESS of removing that storm cellar of fear and reactions one brick at a time and putting more and more of Him in (Only He can be our foundation). What a difference that made. It took months but it was well worth it. Though it was uncomfortable it was the Lord’s work of Love in me. Many of you have storm cellars in your foundations and the Lord needs to remove them. They are dark and full of fears but be of good courage, He knows how to work a process in you to stabilize your life and even gives us the strength to let Him do it.

What peace robbers these broken spirits are, causing internal division and sickness. Our brokenness causes us to leak the good poured in. What blessing and love robbers causing us only to be able to hold fear and anger because like a sickness these things cling to the walls of who we are. But in John 10 we see a Good Shepherd who comes to protect us from the thief that comes to steal kill and destroy, even the internal thief and to give us “life” abundantly.

Jesus will restore you. You must act on this word and be diligent in the process because it will not be instant. Heb 6:11 talks about being diligent to the end; we mustn’t give up along the way. It is for our own good. We must continue through the Valley of the Shadow of Death and come out the other side. The Shadow speaks of fear of what has not even happened yet. Are you dead? No! It’s just a shadow or fear of Death. It also speaks of a fear of self as we walk in our own shadow. Doubts and fears about what we do not have or what we cannot do. But with His help (never on our own) we turn to the Lord and focus on Him only. He is the light. Then the shadows and fears melt away in the brightness of His glory.

Better Than Before

Now we can be better than before. How? Every broken place in you and every scar is a place that can be grafted and joined to the Lord. Every scar is a connector to something. (I often call these memory marks in our soul.) If we sever the scar connected to the past or pain, anger and fear then we must use those same connections to connect to the Lord. The pipeline of His love and ministry will flow the strongest through the place where your pain was.

How do I connect? You do it by continually giving it to the Lord instead of pushing it down inside and hiding it and by following His personal promptings. Things severed mustn’t be left dangling like a loose power line. Otherwise it will draw something else in to connect to it that is bad or call back in the same thing. (Jesus talks about that in Matthew 12:43-45) It must be connected to something in the Lord and the work must be guarded until that connection becomes permanent.

Connect to the Lord by His Holy Spirit. The Lord has a way of letting us know what He’s connecting to us to replace that bad connection so we can cooperate with Him, whether by spoken word or a scripture that just comes alive and speaks to us. Then be diligent in that area, proclaiming scriptures that lines up with that, putting it in your prayers, thanking Him for it. Watch and pray in that area with God’s focus and perspective.

Body – Sickness – Weakness

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. We are like a flower. The flower is pretty and smells nice. That is the body. The stem that feeds it and positions it is the soul; the roots are the spirit. When we are dealing with a problem in our lives we often pluck off the flower or only deal with the flower, which may or may not be effective. But if we allow the Lord to show us the source we can remove blighted roots and even change the direction the plant grows in. We must look below the surface to the entire plant.

In the story “I Give You My Name” the Body was Simon the Bear. Though he had some problems, the body is like a big dumb animal that will submit when given a chance to. He wants to be a friend and not a foe. He wants to be a nice guy that is not scary. These two things speak of things in our body.
Friend     =                 Health
Nice        =                Not Reactive (Reactions of angry, violence,
                                                            fear, and running away)

Remember Simon means servant. That is the body’s proper place. A body not under subjection to the soul and not in unity with the soul and spirit will be reactive, not a nice guy. Every stimulus whether sexual, desires, greed, anger, etc. will bring a physical response. This will affect your health. Why? When the flesh is in charge by fleshly works and feelings the flesh door (gateway to your life) is wide open to attack because it is out of God’s order. The spirit in you then ravages and devours and the soul falls back in retreat, fear and weakness (the old nature) and can’t hear clearly any more. Remember the instructions in the story when this happens. Repent, rebuke and restore so the path will again become clear. Repent and rebuke to remove the enemy. You got off the path and this gave the enemy a legal right to access you but when you repent you remove that legal right. Colossians 2:13-15 You come back into God’s order submitting to Him, now you can resist the devil and He “has to” flee from you. James 4:7. Don’t just repent, evict the intruder, then shut the door and secure it in prayer, ask the Lord to restore you to right relationship and blessings.

Notice when one part of you gets out of God’s order they all begin to get out of order. God’s order is health. The body is to submit to the soul and the Soul submits to Jesus via the Holy Spirit. The soul not submitted to Jesus may try to bring the body under subjection by sheer will (like a diet) but it will fail in the long term. Only when things are brought into proper order can health remain and the body prosper. One of the ways the body gets out of line is when the human spirit tries to run things. It can be very independent. Then you need to find out why. What is trying to turn it back to past behavior? What previous pack of spirit ties keeps it looking back? The spirit by nature is loyal, faithful and protective. But if those traits are aimed in the wrong direction (wrong people or things) we must be quick to deal with it, because roots grow from the spirit. I have found if I have very little time for the Bible and prayer for a few days, after a while I begin to revert to my old nature little by little. Then even I can’t stand to be around me. That tells me something. A starving spirit reverts to the old nature – so do not neglect to feed it.

Adopted

The Lord can only help us when we choose loyalty to Him over loyalty to the past or other people. Luke 14:26. It is a great hidden danger. Many are not aware these past loyalties are still affecting them. For example a child is adopted. A loyalty or spirit tie was formed in the womb, the child often then has hidden struggles. There is something in them looking back to a loyalty their soul doesn’t even remember.

My mother died when I was just a few months old. She was dead – that tie should have been gone. I was too young even to remember what she looked like but there was a loyalty that pulled me back all the time and had to be dealt with at several levels before it could finally be cut completely, so I could be free to continue forward and connect that tie and loyalty to the Lord instead. Something in me remembered at a deep level and felt the loss. Something in me sought it or a replacement though there will never be one in the natural. The only answer is in God No other answer could give me peace deep inside. This explains why people who do not know the Lord or are backslidden are driven to find something, anything to fill that empty need that only God can fill.

Lots wife looked back. She cut the ties at the bodily level of leaving but inside she was still tied to Sodom. That is often a picture of us. We cut it at the bodily level but inside it grows, we may even cut it at the soul level, what we allow in our thoughts, but the spirit level is not as obvious. It takes a process in the Lord to deal with things that go that deep. In a moment of weakness or busyness this deep hidden area arises from seemingly nowhere and trips us up to make us fall, but it was deep inside all the time. Better to deal with it before that happens.

Leaders Too

This affects Leaders in the Lord too because often they too deal with the soul level and turn back at that point thinking things have been dealt with but the roots are still there. Let me give you a good example. If you tempt most leaders to take crack (a strong drug) they would have no desire and could not be tempted. There is nothing in them at any level that wants that. Now let’s say that same leader is tempted with adultery. Normally No! They have their body trained at no and usually there mind has been set at no. But are they lonely, beat up, discouraged, needing approval, acceptance and love. Do they have deep roots from their past that are still in their spirit - roots of indiscretions that have not been dealt with? So there are things at a deep level that could under the right circumstances trigger danger for a person who normally abhors adultery. We have to learn ourselves through the Holy Spirit and let Him deal with these deep things one brick at a time until we are unshakable. All it takes is the right formula, too tired, over worked, discouraged, not enough time for prayer and the Word, leaving the leader weak, add to that loneliness, misunderstandings, and confrontation and things start to get into position, then add a deep undealt with root of sexual indiscretions as a teen or deep rejections and hurt that lead to a deep need for approval or fear of failure that leads to a deep need for reassurance and finally the last part of the formula some one who feeds that need by seeming to be adoring, appreciating or understanding. Let’s defeat that trap before it is even laid by dealing with the deep things in our spirit, soul and body. By staying in the word and resting when needed and by avoiding being alone with the opposite gender at all times.

Often these leaders don’t understand this principle. They get stuck needing to go to the next level but having things deep inside they must deal with in order to be able to handle the pressures and temptations of that level. Most people want to be rich but if you give it to them they may leave Christ and His service to manage it, gradually pulled away by the constant pressure and demands of managing money. Would giving them riches be wise of God? No! But preparing them for it at every level so they could handle it wisely, use it for the Kingdom of God, and not be hurt by it would be. God wants to take us through a process that prepares us to prosper, to walk in power and success, revelation and our God destiny, without hurting us or making us fall and we must let Him.

Others Won’t Understand

Notice unity comes as a process as we walk in the Lord. Others didn’t understand their journey. These others were still in survival mode and that was all they could see. We can’t allow the ones content with only survival (Egypt, man’s wisdom & common sense) to us hold back, we are called to the journey. We have a destiny.

Perhaps needing their approval (like Tom’s mom) or fearing them is one of the things that becomes evident that we need to deal with. But don’t deal with it alone. We have many promises in the Word that the Lord will do the work in us as we let Him (1Thes. 5:23-24) and focus only on Him. Notice they didn’t just go anywhere, they went on the trail that the Lord had prepared for them to show them the way. We need to constantly be asking ourselves if we are where we need to be and doing what we need to be doing. Otherwise it will not lead us to the changes we need so that we can come into unity and fulfill our destiny in the Lord.

Urgent – Forgive Yourself

Often the Lord will tell me to forgive myself or reconcile to myself. Then I know that I am out of unity with myself, which makes me an easy target for the enemy. I must forgive myself, reconcile to myself and make peace with myself right away by the Blood of Jesus Christ. I do it daily and we need to be sensitive to our need to do that. It is a choice we make and not a feeling. If I do not forgive myself it brings me out of unity with the Lord and hinders His guidance and help. Sometimes instead of seeing the enemy’s attack and fighting back, I need to first ask why? What gave him access? Often the real motive of the enemy is not as obvious as it may seem to be. His true motive may be to get me in fear or condemnation to separate me from the Lord. A sheep separated from the herd is the easiest target.

The Blood is the connector of soul, and the soul is the connector of the spirit and body. We have already gone through all of these scriptures before in previous parts of this teaching (about the life being in the blood and what that means.) I am not going to list that here now. But we need to know it and be aware of it. It is at a deep blood level that we connect to the Lord and we need to keep that connection fresh and alive. One of the ways I do that is by taking communion daily. Daily partaking of His blood and body and giving Him mine.

Conclusion

I pray this series is helpful and is something that will help you be stronger and walk deeper with the Lord. Please let me know if you have any comments or questions. I love to hear from you. I will try to get at least one or two more segments done before leaving for India. Please share this with others that you think may need to hear this teaching.
