Coming Trip to India, Nepal, Hong Kong and the Philippines:

Please keep this trip in prayer. I know the Lord has some wonderful things in store this time. Your prayers make all the difference and I know that. When I go you go with me and any victories I have we have together in the Lord. Please pray about what you can give toward this trip. You have been so faithful in the past and I know you will be this time as well. I thank you.

I am sorry so much has come in the middle of this teaching but I am going to try to finish this up before I leave on my trip. Though there is a lot of information, I believe it is information that is important to the body of Christ moving forward. I hope you remember the two teachings Soul Part 1 and Soul Part 2 that go with this Soul Part 3, as we will refer back to them. If not you can go to http://www.goldenministries.org then click on “Past Newsletters” and you will see these two teachings in the list.

Carnal Nature

We talked about being 3 people in one, body, soul and spirit. The carnal nature is not just in our body but in our spirit and soul as well and must be dealt with in each part of us for us to be completely free. As in the story “I Give You My Name” in “Soul Part 1” each one of them had to change on the journey. If one of them had not changed it would have affected the destiny of the others. The work that the Lord was calling them to required a change of nature in each one of them so they could walk in fullness and be complete.

A defect or ‘old nature’ in one of them would stop them all. What one partook of affected the whole. For example; when we give our mind to adulterous thoughts that is adultery, as Jesus taught if you commit adultery in your mind you have truly committed adultery, but not just the soul or thought realm of that person sinned and would be affected, it affected all of that person. What one does carries over to the other.

Many have felt that if they have not actually committed the deed they’re okay. Who is harmed by my thoughts? But the Bible says as a man thinks in his heart so is he. These thoughts not only affect all 3 parts of you and are counted as actual sin by God but also affect those around you and the one you are thinking about like a curse. Just like bitterness and unforgiveness affects the entire person and will make all 3 parts of you sick. Corruption spreads not only throughout that person but also through that person to others. They always want to encourage others to be bitter as well.

If I take drugs it affects more than my body, it effects my spirit with a craving and an addiction, it effects my soul with deep habit ruts of harmful memories and emotions and it effects the body’s health and ability to function. But when a person stops taking drugs they only stop physically, they often do not cast out the spirit of addiction that came with it or perhaps other curses it may have caused to be attached to their spirit or heal the wounds and ruts in their soul and its memory marks, so this person will have other problems because this has not been dealt with completely at every level of that person. Then they will wonder why they have a problem. Often rebellion accompanies drugs and witchcraft. Parents who have a difficult time with their child may begin to seek a deeper source.

Let’s take it a step further, they went through deliverance and removed the attached spirit but there is no instant fix for the ruts in their soul. It takes a process of healing and replacement that most people don’t know about or don’t want to commit to because a process takes time and diligence (work) on their part.

If I take poison it affects all 3 parts of me. A damaged soul is often the source of depression, guilt, anger and fear that is seen on the surface. If Tom (the soul) is in charge and is not submitted to God, you will have Tom (the soul’s) old nature of doubt, double mindedness and fear. If the spirit is not submitted you will have a ravenous wolf and not a protector. It will be pulling against you constantly, craving wrong things and threatening you with constant demands (like being hungry when you just ate an hour ago and you know you shouldn’t be). If the Bear (the body) is not submitted you will have a body that enslaves you instead of befriends you. They all must be healed and restored and brought under subjection to the Lord Jesus Christ.

One part of you can be submitted and not the others. It will affect the submitted part by hindering it and perhaps even stopping it from serving God. This is not only possible this is normal. How often I have seen drug addicts delivered and healed but return to the drugs, because not all parts of them were whole and for them to be made whole takes time. One part of them drags the others down. They believe in the Lord, they have seen His delivering power but the struggle is inside.

Any part of us that is not healed and submitted is an open target for the enemy.

Picture this; we were made 3, Spirit, Soul and Body to fit with God who is also 3, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Put 3 fingers out and spread them apart. Now try to fit them in a small hole made by cupping the other had into a fist. It won’t fit unless you put the 3 fingers together. Father, Son and Holy Spirit have learned to be one, to fit into them as we are supposed to (we are to abide in Christ), we also must be one with ourselves, then we will begin to fit into them and flow with them. A house divide against itself, Jesus said, will fall. We must be joined like a tri-fold cord braided together. Only the Holy Spirit can help us come into unity with ourselves. Most people are NOT in unity with themselves.

Ever wonder why 6 is the number of man. I think it is because we are 3, body, soul and spirit, to be joined with 3, Father, Son and Holy Spirit in perfect unity of one. As Jesus said John 14:20 "At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. I believe the number 6 is prophetic of our destiny to be one in the Lord. I believe the perfect number 7 is when we are also in unity with the rest of the body of Christ.

Did you ever think about the hole in a sewing needle? It has to have one. It can be made of the best metal, have the sharpest point and be straight and true but without a hole it is useless. It can’t fulfill its purpose unless it can join to the thread. That is a picture of most Christians, tried like silver in the furnace of affliction, of a good metal, straight and true, a sharp sword point, but no connecting hole because they are not one in themselves. Perhaps they have a soul that needs healed and restored.
Psalm 23:3 He restores my soul; . Psalm 41:4 I said, "LORD, be merciful to me; Heal my soul,  Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul;  Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To… heal the brokenhearted… To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

We Must Be More Than One

In the story “I Give You My Name” the team could only move forward, not backward. If they moved backwards they would separate from the Lord and be cut off from the Lord’s help because they would be out of His will. They could only do the Lord’s work when they became a team working together with the Lord completely in charge by His Holy Spirit. If they had tried to do the work without that they would have been too vulnerable to the hardships of life. (Like Bear trying to cross the chasm and wolf looking back to his pack)

A soul is meant to be 2 – if it is not joined to the Lord it will seek something else to join to or become divided in itself. That part of the soul; the will, heart, emotions, desires, etc. that is not joined will be divided, for example, the physical appetite for food and eating disorders. This area of the soul if it is not joined to the Lord will seek something else to satisfy it. But why? What is the basis of the need for this comfort and why does it not seek that comfort from the Lord. Some things that could cause that are fear, broken trust, a guarded heart that becomes prisoner to its own protections, hurt, confusion, ruts of habit.

So look for the root need. Why do you need comfort? Let the Lord heal it and deliver it in a process. Remove the prison doors, train yourself to forcibly turn to the Lord for comfort and learn to recognize the triggers and ruts and turn them into God’s paths. Worship, proclaim the scriptures of who God is to you and His love for you or talk it out with God. Learn to listen by training yourself, Jesus said, “My seep hear my voice.”

The comforter can’t comfort well if you haven’t trained yourself to hear His comfort or personal instructions. These steps are a process that retrain and heal the Soul, which is our connector.

How do we become one with Jesus and the Father? The soul is the clay that is moldable and changeable. It is able to be cleaned of the corruption and refilled; repaired to flow with Jesus’ soul, our spirit with His spirit is not enough. We can have great power and anointing, even great knowledge and end up in error as we have seen in the past great revivalist. Knowledge and Power cannot substitute for unity with the Lord and a submitted soul.

We can be a giant of the faith, with healing, signs and wonders, miracles and the word and still have a heart and will far from being joined to the Lord. A heart with the fear of man, fear of failure, personal ambitions, pride, greed, always trying successfully to get God to do what we want but never stopping to see what God wants. The Bible says that God has a soul, will, desires, plans, emotions and character, our job is to line up with Him not force His hand by a Gift of Faith to do what we want. Matthew 7:22-23 "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

Jesus said, “ I never knew you.” It was because they never really knew Him. Is God just a means to an end? We disdain people who only want fire insurance from Hell but is it any better to seek His hand and not His heart. Have we been selfish children? To be an extension of the Lord as we should be we must know Him; to carry on in His name we must know the one who holds that name. In Asian countries to dishonor your father is worse than death. God is our Father and we must honor Him more than ourselves.

Who is the Father? Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

The Word for God in this instance is plural. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. So He made us in that Image, Spirit, Soul and Body. To understand the different aspects of our own life we must understand God. To understand our own Spirit and how it is to relate to God we must understand the image it was created from, that aspect of God called the Holy Spirit. To understand our Soul we must understand the Father and to understand our Body we must know Jesus.

The Word for God in Genesis 1:26 is Elôhîym, which is plural and means twisted together to make powerful and mighty. God is 3, Father, Son and Holy Spirit twisted together in unity to make one Trinity. We are supposed to be like that. Twisted together for more strength and unity in total cooperation with our self but not stopping there, also in unity with the Lord. Just like the other parts of God are in perfect unity and working together for power and might for His purposed, so must we be.

Soul Unity

I was not made just to be in unity with myself. That will help me and is the first step and a step most never make. (i.e. If I don’t love myself – How can I love others as I love myself. James 2:8) The only way I can have unity with myself is by the Holy Spirit. It is against the carnal nature for us to be in unity because by that carnal nature we are our own worst enemy, Paul says, doing what we really don’t want to do. Who really WANTS to over eat, smoke, and do drugs; biting and devouring our own soul and body.

But unity with our self is just a beginning. Then by the Holy Spirit we must become one with God. No one comes to the Father but through the Son Jesus. So we must first have unity with Jesus by the Holy Spirit and then through Jesus unity with the Father. It brings and demands changes in our carnal nature. It brings us back to our original God design and image, which is like a God DNA in us of God’s nature. We were not meant to be a stand-alone unit but by conforming and transforming we are to become again a part of Him as we were before time began. 2 Timothy 1:9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,

Forgive Yourself

We know that what we bind on earth is bound in heaven and what we loose on earth is loosed in heaven. We know by our words we can bind ourselves. Most of us have realized that we need to forgive ourselves. But did you realize that it is often a daily thing. It is amazing how quickly we become offended at ourselves and bind ourselves. It just takes a moment when we are daily forgiving others to 1. Forgive ourselves 2. Reconcile to ourselves by the Blood of Jesus and 3. Make peace with ourselves. This little exercise is not to be taken lightly and often works wonders to bring me back into unity with myself.

The Blessing Sheet

The Lord showed me a sheet, it was held up by its four corners. On top of the sheet were my blessings, gifts, talents, healings, needs, and heavenly treasures from the Lord, like love, joy and peace. If any one of the corners were dropped the blessings would spill out and not be received.

I was on one corner, the Lord Jesus Christ was on the corner opposite me, and next to me was other people and on the other side of me was the Father God. Each of these corners represents a relationship that you must keep alive and doing well or that corner will be dropped. “You must have a good relationship with Me,” the Lord Jesus said, “and through Me with the Father. You must have a good relationship with others and that also should be through Me. You must keep others forgiven, not be offended, be loving and willing to bless them. That leaves one relationship yet to handle and that is the relationship most of us have a problem with, the relationship with yourself.”

“This relationship with yourself is just as important as the other relationships. If you do not keep your relationship with yourself in good order your corner of the blessing sheet will be dropped.”

“Lord,” I asked, “how do I have a relationship with myself?”

The Lord asked me in return, “How do you have a relationship with others?”

“Well I love them, and if they do anything wrong to me I forgive them and pray for them, I make it a point not to be offended at them, I try to help them and bless them in any way I can.” I said.

The Lord said, “Go and do the same thing for yourself. You spend so much time beating yourself up that sometimes you can’t hear My directions. You keep yourself beat down by being so hard on yourself. You must have a good love relationship with yourself, loving yourself with the love of the Lord. You must keep yourself forgiven and not dig up past hurts and mistakes that cause you to have a fear of failure. You must be nice to yourself, even bless yourself now and again but never be offended at yourself as it ruins the relationship.” Don’t say anything to yourself that you wouldn’t say to someone else. If it is not nice enough to say to someone else it’s not nice enough to say to yourself.”

“You see,” the Lord continued, “a double minded man is unstable in all of his ways. I want to be one with you as I am one with the Father but how can I do that if you are not one with yourself, walking in unity with yourself.”

“What do you mean walking in unity with myself?” I asked

“You argue with yourself continually, or put yourself down. I should have said this or oh man I shouldn’t have done that, boy was that stupid of me. Your flesh and your spirit man fight and your soul and your spirit fight and you let them.”

“You are like a man trying to go in two directions at one time because you are not in unity with yourself and in a good relationship with yourself. How can I be one with you, if you are not even one with yourself? You must walk in unity with yourself; determine to do the best you can. If you make a mistake, ask for forgiveness right away and continue on not allowing that mistake to hinder you further by concentrating on it and getting discouraged. My desire is for you my beloved but I cannot be one with you until you are one with yourself.”

“When you are one with yourself then my corner and your corner will be joined. I saw in the vision of the sheet the Lord brought His corner to mine making a triangle. Through Me the Father will join His corner and through Me, My body “others” will join their corner, as long as you have a right relationship with everyone including yourself they can all be joined. Then we have a bundle of the blessing and good things that I desire to give you. But before I can give them to you, you and I must be one but something is in the way. What is that in between us?”

I looked in the vision and the large bundle of blessings was between the Lord and me. “Lord the bundle of blessings is coming between us.” I said. “What must we do about that?”

The Lord asked me, “Do you hold Me accountable for these blessings?”

“How do I do that Lord?” I asked – knowing I must or He wouldn’t have asked.

“You say Lord where is my financial blessing, where is the promise for my children, Lord I prayed for better health where is that blessing? Lord your word says you will give me this blessing where is it?  You are holding Me accountable for your blessings and your blessings then come between us so that you and I cannot be joined and be one. “

“Do not misunderstand Me,” the Lord said, “I have saved these blessings for you and I want you to have them all, but I don’t want them to come between us.”

“What must I do Lord?” I asked

The Lord studied me as though to see if I really meant it. “You must give all of your blessings, your gifts, your ministry, your talents, your healing, your provision, love, peace, joy, finances all back to Me. Then there will be nothing between us and you can truly join with Me and be one with Me. Once you have joined with Me I will have your blessings and they will be readily accessible to you anytime you need them.”

“It was never about the blessings and the gifts, though sometimes you have made it about the blessings, healings, and gifts, it is about a relationship with Me, then the blessings just come from the relationship. Is it better to have one healing that you have been promised or the healer so that you can have all health. Whether is better to have one financial blessing or the one who owns it all and can give you what you need at any time?”

Latent

Latent means secret, hidden, below the surface, not obvious. It can be spoken of cravings, desires, appetites, which are in the spirit (like Wolf in the story ‘I Give You My Name’). It is not the Bear (the body) or Tom (the soul) though there are many links between them. The hidden cravings, instincts and hungers in us are in our spirit. When you first have that craving triggered, be quick to feed your spirit the word of God. Aim the word by choosing to proclaim the word that lines up with the problem you are having. A full spirit doesn’t crave and trigger instincts as much. If an old craving is triggered see where you may have gotten off track to cause that to happen, like sin, or not reading the Bible out loud, etc.

Sometimes we must restrict the spirit with the body, like the bear restricted the wolf in the story. If I had ever had a problem with alcohol, I wouldn’t let my body have even one drink of alcohol as it might trigger latent spirit cravings and instincts. I wouldn’t go near a place like a bar or casino, even out of curiosity or JUST for fun, as it would trigger the wolf cravings in my spirit. Just is interesting word, because we use it so much but it usually mean you knew better and if you really knew better then that means it is really compromise. We lose what we compromise and compromise is rebellion, because we knew it displeased God and did it anyway. The next time you say “I just” think of that.

The Wolf (spirit) in us is the protector, the one who watches, guards, and prays, but if you trigger the latent nature of that spirit, it will turn and devour you. Feed your spirit daily. Guard it from obvious situations where the enemy could gain entry. If you’re not sure don’t mess with it, because it’s never worth it.

Body of Death

Romans 7:24-25 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?  I thank God -- through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Most people know that what Paul was referring to here was a horrible punishment kings practiced in his days. They would not only put a man in the dungeon but they would attach a dead body to his back, tying it head to head and legs to legs so that when the dead body rotted the living man would rot as well. Paul was saying that is what the old nature is like to the Christian. The body of death, the old ways and cravings attached to the new life. To be a Christian is to be on a journey.

The old body of death (the old cravings and ways) are removed and separated one piece at a time as we journey but each piece must be replaced with ‘Christ in us the hope of glory’ not left open for just anything to fill.. What connects it to us must be severed like blood vessels to the past and then each one connected to the Lord instead.  Sometimes people severe the tie but never reconnect and just leave the hot wire dangling. That is why often many wonderful changes don’t last and bad things often return. It is a temporary graft that must be protected until it becomes a permanent part of the Lord.

Often we bring our Alabaster Box to the Lord, like the woman who anointed Jesus’ feet, it is the essence of all that is precious to us. We pour it into Him in a moment of deep worship and feel a great peace and accomplishment. But wait how did it come back to my hands. I broke it; I poured it into Him. Yet here it is taped and back in my hands. The pieces of the box, which is my will, draws my life back to my own hands. How frustrating. What must I do? I must grind the box to powder one piece at a time and let the wind of the Spirit blow my will away so that when my life is poured into the Lord it can remain. Though we have tried to do it and found we cannot, do not lose heart, because as it says in 1 Thes. 5:23-24 – The Lord will do it. Praise God. Not overnight but one piece at a time, as we remain submitted.

JOY

Nehemiah 8:10 Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength." This word joy is Chedvah 2304. It means rejoicing and gladness but it also means to be joined. Our joy is wonderful glue that joins us to our self and to the Lord by His Holy Spirit. Joy is an attitude to be sought and maintained. We see in Isaiah 12 that joy is our bucket that we draw water from the wells of salvation with. The bucket between us and the Lord’s salvation that joins us to Him or helps us lay hold of His salvation for us. It hooks us up with Him for our total spirit, soul and body salvation. Joy is more than a strength it is a connector.

Ties to the Past

There are lengthy teachings on soul ties and I have already stated some things in Soul Part 2, so I just want to bring out one main point this time. There are 3 levels of soul ties at differing depths of spirit, soul and body. Though Wolf (the spirit in the story) had physically left the pack, deep inside he was still attached. He had preconceived ideas and motives of what should be done. What do we do with what we cannot reconcile? Do we trust the Lord when it seems hard, wrong, unfair or crosses our plans and determination? For example let’s say that the Lord called you to go to Africa. A chance comes for you to go that seems great and you’ve made all your plans to go but the Lord says no I don’t want you to go this time, what do you do?

Questioning God in the sense of why or but I just or that’s not fair, all lead to a divided heart (soul), which will put you I great danger because then Jesus will no longer be the one in charge. Do we serve Him out of love or law? Do we obey because we love to please Him or try to find a way to finagle what we want? Often people push for what they want and God let’s them because they do not delight to please Him. It often ends up in disaster and then they blame the Lord because from their perspective they were doing it for Him, when really they had orders to prepare to go but not orders to go as of yet and there is a big difference.

We must be correctable, changeable, adaptable, quick to repent and diligent in each process. Compromise is dangerous because then the spirit (wolf) takes the reigns with cravings, fears, anger, reactions triggered from deep inside, instead of God’s way. We must begin to allow the Lord to show us the triggers and remove them one by one. Some are many layers and then we must remove one layer at a time.

Closing

I am going to try to finish this series quickly before I go on my next trip. I want to get this teaching into your hands. It may be long but I think it will be very helpful. I will probably have two more segments. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. I will be more than happy to help in any way I can and I love to hear from you.
